IPOH: Bursar’s Department had participated in the Public Services Innovation Award at the Perak State Level and has won second place for the Change of Procedure Category. The award was presented by the Perak Chief Minister, Dato’ Seri Mohd Zambry bin Abd. Kadir during the Perak Public Services Quality Day Ceremony on 22nd October 2009 at Banquet Hall, Perak Darul Ridzuan Building. The Bursar’s Department has run the Innovation of Electronic Payment System and Payment Notification via Portal. This Electronic Payment System was introduced beginning 2005 while the Payment Notification via Portal was implemented starting from 2009. The implementation of this innovation successfully expedited the payment process to the customer, saving the costs, optimising the work force and increasing the client’s satisfaction.
Based on clients’ survey conducted in 2008, it was found that almost 89% of the clients were highly satisfied with the implementation of this innovation. The survey also suggested that payments should be notified online to the clients. Based on this suggestion, Bursar’s Department has worked together with the ICT Center to introduce the electronic payment notification via the portal. The staff and students of UPSI are able to check the electronic payment notifications at MyUPSI Portal whilst the suppliers can check via Vendor@UPSI Portal.
The implementation of this payment system enables the clients to check their payment status, increases the transparency of payment procedure and also achieved the clients’ satisfaction. This victory has motivated the Bursar’s Department staff to strive harder in order to achieve the clients’ satisfaction and excellence in future.
